I just sent out this custom Explorer-style build! It’s a bit more faithful to the classic shape than I usually go for, but it was for a special client who I knew would truly appreciate it.

The project gave me a great opportunity to revisit the original Explorer design and address some of its flaws—like the weight, bulky neck pocket, and heavy use of plastic.

I was glad to give it a subtle Sunland twist, and I think the 6-inline Sunland headstock complements the shape beautifully.

I suped this guitar up with Guyker locking tuners, roller tune-o-matic bridge and James Hetfield’s signature EMG set.
